Ink, Stamp, Share Showcase Blog Hop Image

Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Showcase Blog Hop

This month I am showing you how I made a Baby Card using Blends and the Blending Technique. As my niece’s baby was due last week I decided to make her this Baby Card. I saw the idea on a recent Facebook post where Carolyn Arnold from Stamping Cards had made a card using pink, blue and yellow ink for her background so I decided to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) her card.

How I made my Baby Card using the blending technique.

First I started cutting a A5 portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. I then cut a mat layer using Balmy Blue card stock and stuck it onto the card base. After that I cut 2 mat layers of Basic White card stock and embossed one of the mat layers using the Timeworn 3D embossing folder.

I then die cutting out the circles using the Stylish Shapes circle dies and put it to one side. Next I took the other Basic White mat layer and using Blending Brushes and the Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue ink pads I smooched the ink over the mat layer making sure that I was covering the areas that would be seen under the cut out circles. Once I was happy with my blending I stuck this mat layer onto the Balmy Blue mat layer and then stuck the die cut mat layer on top of the Basic White may layer.

How I coloured in the elephants for my Baby Card

Photograph of stamped elephants coloured in for Baby Card

First I started by stamped the elephants, balloon, peanuts and butterfly using Black Memento ink on to scraps of Basic White card stock. I then used Smoky Slate Blends to colour in the elephants. Then I used Crumb Cake blends to colour in the peanuts, Balmy Blue blends for the balloon and Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers for the butterfly. Next I die cut them all out and added then to the card ensuring that there was one elephant in each circle and the peanuts and balloon went outside of the circles.

Photograph of sentiment for my Baby Card using the Blending Technique

For the sentiment I heat embossed ‘sweet little one’ using clear versamark ink and white embossing powder. I then used one of the circles from Stylish Shapes to die cut the sentiment. Finally I added some Balmy Blue Iridescent Pastel Gems to the card front.

I am really please with how the card turned out. Remember if you are stuck for a card and you see one you like then go ahead and CASE it. Finally if you do please do post it onto my Facebook page or email me a photo as I would love to see what you come up with.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
