Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

The theme this month is Autumn Colours

I spent a while trying to think of a project for this month’s blog hop. In the end I decided to makes three Autumn ‘a little note’ cards. I decided to use the Enjoy the Moment stamp set as it is a stamp set that I do not often use. Choosing which colour to use from all of our 52 colours was quite easy as I always think that Cinnamon Cider is a lovely autumn colour.

Making the Autumn ‘a little note’ cards

I started by cutting Basic White Thick card stock until 10x20cm pieces and scored each one at 10cm to make a 10cm x 10cm card base.

Next I cut three 9.5cm x 9.5 cm square mat layers using Cinnamon Cider card stock. I then cut 9cm x 9cm mat layers using Basic White card stock.

Autumn ‘a little note’ card – Dried Poppy Seed Heads

First I chose to use the poppy seed head stamp as I had just removed the dried poppy seed heads from my garden. I stamped the design using Cinnamon Cider ink and stamped once using the full colour and then stamped again so I got a lighter shade. I put the Basic White mat layer on a piece of scrap paper before I started stamping. This made some of the images have both the normal ink shade and a lighter one.

Autumn ‘a little note’ – Beech Nuts

I chose the Beech Nut image as a child my parents used to take us to the visit the local Beech Woods. I lived in Cambridge and loved visiting the Beech Woods as we would hunt for the beech nuts amongst the fallen leaves. It was a place where we could run around and play hide and seek. I drove past it recently and it looked a lot smaller that when I was a child. Again I stamped the image onto the Basic White mat layer using Cinnamon Cider ink.

Autumn ‘a little note’ card – Sycamore Seeds

I chose the sycamore seed image for my final card as where I lived in Cambridge we had a lot of sycamore trees. In the summer they provided shade but in the autumn we used to throw the seeds into the air to make helicopters as they spin on their way to the ground. Again I stamped the image onto the Basic White mat layer using Cinnamon Cider ink.

Finishing off the cards

Once I had stamped all of the Basic White mat layers I thought they needed something else so I stamped the seed image in the gaps. I then stuck them onto the Cinnamon Cider mat layers. Then I stuck them onto the Basic White Thick card bases.

To finish off the cards I stamped the ‘a little note’ sentiment onto a strip of Cinnamon Cider card stock using Cinnamon Cider ink. I then added them to the card fronts using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Autumn themed ‘a little note’ cards. Why not have a go yourself?

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
