Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

The theme this month is Celebrate.

For my project I decided to experiment with alternative colours to celebrate Christmas. Normally the colour combinations I use are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler or Garden Green and Real Red so I wondered how Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party would look.

How I made my card using alternative colours to celebrate Christmas

Photo showing you my finished card using Alternative Colours to celebrate Christmas.

I started by cutting a Basic White landscape card base and adding a Sweet Sorbet mat layer. Next I cut a Basic White mat layer to stamp onto. The stamp set I chose to use is the Leaves of Holly and the Holly Berry dies. I started by stamping the holly leaves using the small outline stamp and Parakeet Party ink along the edges. I got carried away and ended up stamping along all of the edges. Next I took the small infill leaf stamp and stamped this into any gaps by first stamping off onto a scrap of paper to get a lighter tone.

Next I stamped the berries using Sweet Sorbet for the outline of the berries and stamping off Strawberry Sorbet ink onto scrap paper. I then die cut them out.

Next I used Basic White card stock to die cut out the sentiment box. I stamped the Christmas Wishes using Strawberry Sorbet ink. I then die cut the leaves using Parakeet Party card stock and stuck them to the sentiment frame before adding to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you do not have a die cutting machine you could stamp the sentiment onto the white space on the stamped mat layer. Once I was happy I stuck the stamped mat layer onto the card. Finally I stock one set of berries and some 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decretive Dots onto the sentiment frame.

I hope you have enjoyed my alternative colour combination to celebrate Christmas. I am really pleased at how bright it turned out especially with the dark winter days at the moment. Why not have a go yourself using different colour combinations and share on to my Facebook Group.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
