Welcome to this month’s Build & Bloom Stampers Blog Hop.

This month’s theme is: Birthday.

This month I have decided to show you one of the alternative masculine birthday cards I made using the April Paper Pumpkin Kit. Stampin’ Up! have now made their Paper Pumpkin Kits available in all markets with the April Paper Pumpkin Kit – Lakeside Retreat being the first one.

Photo of April 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit - Lakeside Retreat and a sneak peek of the coordinating Waterside Retreat Suite Collection. This kits makes gorgeous masculine birthday cards,

This kit includes everything you need to make 9 cards so when I received my kit I made up 1 of each of the 3 cards before making some alternatives. Plus it also coordinates with the Waterside Retreat Suite Collection which is available in May.

How I made my alternative Masculine Birthday card.

Photo of one of my masculine Birthday card using the April Paper Pumpkin Kit - Riverside Retreat.

I started by cutting one of the card bases in half. I then cut a portrait card base using Basic White card stock. Next I cut a mat layer using Pecan Pie card stock. Finally I cut the riverside picture into a mat layer as the kits are made to US sizes which do not sit nicely onto our A6 card sizes.

Next I stamped the birds and bullrushes onto the picture using Peaceful Pine ink. Yes this is one of the NEW 2026-2028 InColors and comes with the kit.

I then cut one of the green check strips in half to look like curtains. I cut a strip of Pecan Pie card stock to make the sign post and coloured wood grains along it before sticking to the underside of one of the green check strips. Next I added the strips to the sides of the picture and stuck the picture onto the card base.

I then stamped the rope and ‘Happy Birthday’ onto one of the sentiment layers before sticking it onto one of the signs. Next I stamped the words ‘You are an inspiration’ onto one of the long signs before lining both of these up to make a hanging sign. The long thin sign I added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love using this kit to make masculine birthday cards. If you would like to see how I made the original 3 masculine cards and another 2 alternative masculine cards then here is the link to my YouTube videos.

I do hope that you have enjoyed seeing this gorgeous masculine birthday card. why not have a go yourself and pop a photo of it onto my Facebook page.
