Stampin' Up! Color Coach that I used for my Monochromatic Scrapbook Page.

This month I thought I would do a slightly different Monochromatic scrapbook page as I normally do black and white ones. I decided to use the Color Coach to pick my colours. As Melon Mambo is my favourite colour that Stampin’ Up! does I decided to use that as the base for my monochromatic colours. The colours that I used are Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia.

How I made my Monochromatic Scrapbook Page – Background

First I took a 12″ x 12″ sheet of Willow White as my base. I then chose the large flower from Gallery Blooms stamp set as I knew I could colour that image in. I stamped this image in each corner using Melon Mambo ink. I then used the Berry Burst, Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia Blends to colour them in. Next using the paint splats from the Elements of Text stamp set I stamped the bigger paint splat using Melon Mambo and Berry Burst ink. I then stamped the smaller one using Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia ink.

How I made my Monochromatic Scrapbook Page – Title

First I decided that as I had already die cut some Melon Mambo letters using the Mini Alphabet dies I would use those for my title. As I wanted my photo mat layers to be Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath card stock I would use the Fresh Freesia one for my title. (It did not look right with a double mat layer).

As I wore a Melon Mambo dress to my daughter’s wedding last year I decided that I would use one of the photographs from her wedding. I decided to make my title ‘Mother Of The Bride’ but then I found a lovely one of just me and my daughter so I decided to knock the ‘Of’ off and change it to ‘And’. I forgot to add adhesive sheet to the back of the die cut letters so I had to carefully add Multipurpose Glue to the back of each letter using tweezers. Finally I added the title to my monochromatic scrapbook page.

I do hope that you have enjoyed seeing my monochromatic scrapbook page. I certainly enjoyed stepping out of my conform zone of black and white with a single colour. Why not give this type of scrapbooking a go and please do share your pages on my Facebook page.
