Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is: CASE a Stamptastic Friend.

This month’s card is a pretty birthday card using simple stamping which I have CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from one of my friends, Leighsa Allport, from Leighsa’s Loft. She made this pretty card using the Pets & More stamp set which is one of the Online Exclusive products.

Leighsa used the dog stamp so I thought I would use the cat stamp and I also changed the colour to Granny Apple Green.

How to make my pretty birthday card using simple stamping

Photograph of my finished pretty birthday card using simple stamping.

First I cut a portrait card base using Thick Basic White card stock. Next I cut a Granny Apple Green mat layer and then Basic Black mat layer before cutting a Basic White mat layer for stamping on.

On the Basic White mat layer I stamped the food bowls in Granny Apple Green and the paws using Black Memento ink. This technique is used when you want to make your own backgrounds or patterned card stock. Once I was happy with my stamping I stuck the stamped mat layer onto the Basic Black mat layer. Next I stuck this mat layer onto the Granny Apple Green mat layer before sticking them all onto the card front.

Using a strip of Basic White card stock I stamped the words ‘Happy Birthday’ on it using Black Memento ink. The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set. Next I cut a mat layer for the sentiment using Granny Apple Green card stock and stuck the stamped sentiment onto it. On a separate piece of Basic White card stock I stamped the cat outline and fussy cut it out.

How to finish making my pretty birthday card using simple stamping

First I stuck the sentiment onto the card front about 2/3 down from the top. As I used a longer sentiment to the one Leighsa used I stuck the cat in the middle of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals so that it was just sitting on top of the sentiment.

I decided that I liked the card as it is so I did not add any embellishments.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my version of the pretty birthday card using simple stamping that Leighsa made. If you are stuck for an idea then have a go at CASE a card or scrapbook layout and see what you end up with. Of course I would love to see what you make so please pop a photograph onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
