Today I am going to show you how to make a gorgeous flip flap Thank You card.

I designed this flip flap Thank You card for a Stampin’ Up! on the Road event which was a demonstrator event held in Lincoln on 26th July 2024. As I was one of the presenters/designers this meant that 68 demonstrators from the UK were going to be making it as part of the event.

For this event each presenter was given the following remit for designing a card. We could use the Spotlight on Nature Stamp Set and the 1 3/4″ circle punch. We could use any of the 2024-2026 In Colors both in cardstock and ink pads. The Silver & White 1/2″ Sheer ribbon and the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems. Plus Basic White cardstock and Black Memento ink pad.

How I made the Flip Flap Thank You Card.

Photograph of Finished Flip Flap card

First I cut a portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. Then I cut a sheet of A4 Shy Shamrock card stock in half. Next I cut the flip flap using Shy Shamrock card stock and two pieces of Basic White card stock for the front and inside mat layers.

I then stamped the leaf Image onto the Shy Shamrock card stock using Shy Shamrock ink before cutting this into two mat layers. I stuck one on to the front of the card.

Next I stuck the flip flap to the inside of the card and then stuck the other stamped mat layer over the top making sure that the actual flap would go over the card front.

I then stamped part of the flower image onto one of the Basic White mat layers using Black Memento ink before sticking it onto the inside of the card. Next using the remaining Basic White mat layer I then stamped the flower image towards the top of the mat layer using Black Memento ink. Next I cut two strips of the Silver & White 1/2″ ribbon. One piece to make a bow and the other to go across the front of the stamped image. I did this before sticking the stamped mat layer to the card front so that the ribbon ends were hidden.

How to make the sentiment for the Flip Flap Thank You Card

I then stamped the word ‘thanks’ using Shy Shamrock ink before punching it out using the 1 3/4″ circle punch. As I was restricted in what products we had to use I decided to run the edge of the circle along the ink pad to make a coloured edge that would show up on the card front. I stuck the sentiment onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals ensuring that it was over the ribbon.

Finally I added some of the Shy Shamrock shimmer gems from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems pack.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made this card using set products. Please have a go and please do share them onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
