Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: To make a scrapbook layout using 3 favourite colours.
The theme for this month has been decided by my lovely friend and fellow UK demonstrator Alison Carter.
My project today is a scrapbook layout using my 3 favourite colours. I love using Stampin’ Up! products as I know that everything will coordinate and that the different colours so go well together. My favourite colours are Fresh Freesia, Grant Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. My favourite bundle at the moment is Layers of Beauty which includes a stamp set, dies and masks. I love how the large flower image can be coloured in using water colour pencils, Stampin’ write markers, blends and then using the masks to blend int ink over it.
How I made my Scrapbook Layout using 3 colours.
How I coloured in the stamped images for my scrapbook layout using 3 colours.
To begin with I chose to use a 12×12 piece of Basic White card stock as I wanted to stamp the large floral image from the Layers of Beauty stamp set. I stamped this image 4 times once in each corner using Black Memento Ink. Next because I was limiting myself to 3 colours I decided to colour in my stamped images using Stampin’ Blends. This meant that I could build up the light and dark colours to make lots of different tones.
I started by colouring in the leaves using Granny Apple Green light and dark blends and built up the colour by colouring over the leaves a few times. I went over the veins in the leaves using the dark Granny Apple Green blend. Next I coloured in the roses using Fresh Freesia light and dark blends. Finally I coloured in the smaller flowers using Daffodil Delight light and dark blends. I used the dark Daffodil Delight blend for the flower centres.
Once I was happy with my colouring I then thought about my mat layers for a photograph and some journaling. I cut a mat layer using Fresh Freesia card stock and mounted it onto another slightly bigger Granny Apple Green may layer.
How I made my hidden journaling mat layer for my scrapbook layout using 3 colours
As my photograph mat layers took up most of the middle of my layout I decided to have a hidden pull out for my journaling. So I cut another Granny Apple Green mat layer to go underneath my photograph. I then added a tab using the Labelled With Love punch and Fresh Freesia card stock. I cut the punched shape in half and stuck one half to the top of my journaling mat layer before sticking on a piece of Basic White card stock. If I do need more space to journal I can add another piece of Basic White card stock to the back of the journaling mat layer.
What I really like about my scrapbook layout using 3 colours is that you do not need many products to make it. I can add a portrait photograph and have the journaling tab on the side or I can add a landscape photograph and have the tab at the top of the photograph.
I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my scrapbook layout using my 3 favourite colours. Why not have a go at using your favourite 3 colours to make a scrapbook layout. I would love to see what you make so please share it onto my Facebook Group.
