Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is: Gift Wrap.

This month’s project is a simple gift card box that I am making for my dinner guests on Christmas Day. It does not take long to make as I have used the Scalloped Gift Card Boxes from Stampin’ Up!. And I have chosen to use some of the designer series paper from the A Walk In The Forest pack. This pack is one of the Making a Difference products where by for every pack purchased Stampin’ Up! will donate £2.50 to support organisations who are dedicated to spreading cheer and providing support to those in need. This also one of the very few designer series paper packs I have actually used and now only have one 12×12 sheet left and a few scraps.

How I made the simple Gift Card Box.

First I made up the box which was very easy to do as I just folded along the edges and tucked the bits in. I then measured the top of the box and cut a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock to make a mat layer. Next I used one of the designer series papers from the A Walk in the Forest and cut it slightly smaller than the mat layer before sticking on to the mat layer and then onto the top of the box.

How I made the belly band to keep the Gift Card Box closed.

First I chose another piece of the designer series papers to make a belly band. I then cut a 4cm strip from it and wrapped loosely it around the box. This makes it easier to remove and open and close the box. I then stuck the top of the belly band onto the bottom of the belly band making sure that I did not stick it to the box.

After that I then stamped a sentiment from the Perennial Postage Stamp Set using Pretty peacock ink and then die cut it out using one of the dies from the Perennial Postage Dies which are in the NEW January 2024 mini catalogue. I then die cut a larger mat layer using Pretty Peacock card stock and the next larger dies from the Perennial Postage dies. Next I stuck both die cut pieces together before adding to the belly band again I was careful to only put glue where it would touch the belly band.

Finally I took one of the inserts and added my gift card to it before placing in the finished box.

I loved making this simple gift card box and you do not have to use it just for giving a gift card. You can add in chocolates, money or anything else you need a small box for. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my simple Gift Card box. why not have a go at making one and sharing what you have made and what you used it for on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
