Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: A Traditional Christmas Scrapbook Layout.
For my Traditional Christmas scrapbook layout I have chosen to use some of the designer series paper from the A walk In The Forest pack. This pack is one of the Making a Difference products where by for every pack purchased Stampin’ Up! will donate £2.50 to support organisations who are dedicated to spreading cheer and providing support to those in need. This also one of the very few designer series paper packs I have actually used and now only have one 12×12 sheet left and a few scraps.
I also wanted to make a scrapbook layout that was easy for anyone to make using products they may already have in their stash. Also this Christmas my family will be getting together on Boxing Day and it will be the first Christmas for my new grandson and Great Nephew so of course I will be taking loads of photographs that will need scrapbooking.
How I made my traditional Christmas Scrapbook Layout.
To start with I chose to use a Basic White 12×12 piece of card stock for my base. I then cut a strip of designer series paper from the A Walk in the Park pack. This then helped me to decide what colours to use. Next I cut a strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock to make a mat layer for my designer series paper.
Next I cut out two pieces of Cherry Cobbler card stock and two Pretty Peacock mat layers. One will be for my photo and the other will be for my journaling.
I then punched out leaves using Pretty Peacock card stock and the Bough punch and then used Cherry Cobbler card stock to punch out the flower heads. As the laves looked a bit plain I used a White Gel Pen to draw veins onto the leaves. I also added some Wink of Stella to the flower heads to add some sparkle as after all we need sparkle at Christmas.
I then stuck the leaves and flower heads under the strip on the left hand side and under the mat layers. Finally I added some curly lines and dots to the edges of the strip.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my simple Traditional Christmas scrapbook layout. Why not have a go yourself and share your finished layout on my Facebook page.
