Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
The theme this month is:
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Julia Quinn.
For my scrapbook layout using a grid I thought I would make my layout to look like a quilt and use a photo of the scan of my third grandchild who is due to be born in October 2023. I decided on the quilt grid theme as my daughter-in-law is American and like a few of my other American friends absolutely loves quilts.
How I made my Scrapbook Layout using a Grid
I started by cutting a few sheets of the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper into 2″ squares. I laid them onto a 12×12 piece of Basic White card stock in a random order. Now I really struggle with doing anything random so I am sure that you can make a better layout. Once I was happy with the design I stuck each 2″ square onto the piece of Basic White card stock using Multipurpose Glue.
Next I cut some 1/2″ strips of 12×12 Night of Navy card stock and stuck them onto the edges of the squares to make it look like a quilt.
How I completed my Scrapbook Layout using a Grid
I then used a couple of the small cards from the Bright & Beautiful Memories and More pack. The Hip Hip Hooray one I cut down and mounted it onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock. I used one of the cards for the title and another one for my journaling. Again I stuck these onto a piece of Night of Navy. Finally I stuck the photo onto another piece of Night of Navy card stock.
I then laid these onto the scrapbook layout before sticking down.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made my Scrapbook Layout using a Grid. Why not have a go yourself and pop a photo of what you have designed onto my Facebook page.

I love the optical illusion created by placing offset images against a straight grid. It reminds me of the effect you can get in quilting by using grids this way. Lovely layout!
