The theme this month is a Colour Challenge using Black, White and a Pop of Colour.

I love making card or scrapbook layouts using a colour challenge and this month’s is Black, White and a Pop of Colour Challenge was quite easy to design a card for.

How I made my Black and White Card with a Pop of Colour.

As I was going to be cutting a piece of A4 Basic Black card stock in half I decided to make two cards. Once I had cut my card bases I scored at 14.85cm. Next I cut one end at 3.5cm and again at 6.5cm. The 6.5cm piece I put away as I did not need it keeping the 3.5cm wide piece. I then cut a 12cm x 8cm piece of Basic White card stock for the front of the card. Next I cut a 11.5cm x 7cm piece of Basic White card stock for the inside. Next I cut a 11cm x 8cm piece of Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper and another piece 14.4cm x 10cm. I then die cut a circle in Basic Black and a smaller circle in Basic White using the Stylish Shapes dies.

How I put my Black & White Card with a Pop of Colour together.

First I laid out the Basic Black card base and the 3.5 wide piece this will be the bottom of the card front. I then stuck the 12cm x 8cm piece of Basic White card stock onto the front. You could keep this piece straight but I prefer it to be at a slant. Next I stuck on the 11cm x 8cm piece of DSP on top again at a slant.

On the inside of the card I stuck the 14.4cm x 10cm piece of DSP down and stuck the 11.5cm x 7cm piece of Basic White on top so that I can write in the card.

I then stamped the curled up cat from Love Cats stamp set onto the Basic White die cut circle using Black Memento ink. Next I stuck the Basic White circle onto the Basic Black circle and added it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next I took the Melon Mambo Dark Blend a coloured in the little heart. I then stamped the sentiment ‘Head Over Heels about you onto a scrap of Basic White card stock before adding it to a Melon Mambo may layer. Then I stuck the sentiment onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added some Melon Mambo Glossy Dots.
