Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.
This Month’s Theme is Monochrome.
When I saw this month’s theme was Monochrome I decided that I needed to make some simple, quick and easy monochromatic sympathy cards for my stash of cards. As I love the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper I decided to make my monochrome sympathy cards using Black, Grey and White to match the papers. Also this is a great way to use up your Designer Series Papers whilst making an assortment of greeting cards.
How I made my 4 Simple & Easy Monochrome Sympathy Cards.

First I made 4 portrait card bases using Basic White card stock. Next I cut 4 pieces of the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper measuring 9.5cm x 13.5cm. I then cut each piece of Designer Series Paper 3.5cm up from the bottom of the piece.
Next I cut out 2 mat layers using Basic Gray card stock and 2 more mat layers this time using Smoky Slate card stock.
I then took each of the larger pieces of the cut Designer Series Papers and stuck them to the top part of the mat layer. I then took the matching smaller piece and turned it over so that you could see the reverse side before sticking that down at the bottom of each mat layer. You will now have 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper stuck to each mat layer with a border around each piece.
How I made my sentiment layers for my 4 Monochrome Sympathy Cards.
First I cut a Basic White strip measuring 9.5cm x 2 cm. Next I stamped the sentiment ‘thinking OF you’ onto the Basic White strip using Black Memento ink. I then cut a mat layer that matched the card mat layer (Basic Gray and Smoky Slate) and stuck the stamped sentiment on top of it.
Finally I added the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I do love how quick and easy my Monochrome Sympathy Cards were to make and of course I can make this type of card for any occasion especially large events like Christmas. So my challenge to you is to have a go at making one of these cards using your own stash and to share it onto my Facebook Page. The link is below.
