Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.
This Month’s Theme is: Crafting Tools.
My favourite crafting tool has to be my paper trimmer so here is a different way to use your paper trimmer to make greeting cards. Sometimes people think that a paper trimmer is just for cutting paper and card stock but the one I use from Stampin’ Up! also has a scoring blade which comes in very handy when making cards. But did you know that there is another way it can be used when making greeting cards?
Here is a different way to use your paper trimmer.
I have decided to use my paper trimmer to do scoring on the front of these two cards. First I made two A6 landscape card bases using Coastal Cabana card stock. On one card base I scored lines on the card front using my paper trimmer. I scored at 0.5cm and 1cm along each edge of the card front. I left the other one blank.
Next I cut two Basic White card stock mat layers. One I scored around each edge. Again at 0.5cm and 1cm. I then stamped the paint swish image from the Friends For Life stamp set using Coastal Cabana ink. To get the different shade of Coastal Cabana I first stamped an image straight from the ink pad and then stamped it twice again without reinking the stamp. This is what is called 2nd and 3rd Generation stamping.
I then stamped the word ‘BEST’ again using Coastal Cabana ink. I stamped it in the top part of the mat layer as I wanted to add the ‘friend’ die cuts to the bottom of the card. I die cut our the word ‘friend’ using Basic White card stock and the mat layer for it using Coastal Cabana card stock. I did remember to add a piece of Adhesive sheet to the Basic White card stock before die cutting it out. This meant that all I had to do was peel off the backing and stick it straight onto the ‘friend’ mat layer.
I then stuck one of the whole ‘friend’ die cut onto each card before adding some of the gems from the Faceted Gems Trio Pack.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my different way to use your paper trimmer. Please do have a go and I would love to see your card.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
