Welcome to this month’s Stampin Friends Blog Hop.
The theme for this month is Favourites.
This is an easy one for me as I love anything with Butterflies on and we have a few stamp sets and dies which fit this category. I decided to go for the Butterfly Beauty dies as you can die cut so many different butterflies.
My Project
I have been working with Sandra Roberts (my upline) on a Techniques Folder so that I can remember the different techniques and refer back if I get stuck.
I love working with the Stampin’ Up! 6″ x 8″ Folders especially the one with the black material down the side as you can do anything to the rest of the cover.
For my album I chose to have a base layer using Basic Black onto which I stuck the Butterfly Beauty die cut butterflies. I only used the one die as I wanted to see the Melon Mambo card stock.
Next I stamped the letters ‘TECHNIQUES onto different coloured card stock scraps using Lined Alphabet stamp set. These I then die cut using the matching dies, cutting off the angular pieces.
I then arranged these on top of the folder and stuck them in place.
My Card
For the card I wanted to keep it simple but interesting. So I stamped the card using the Crackle Glaze stamp and Soft Sea Foam ink pad.
Then I die cut both layers of the butterflies and stuck these together and then fixed them onto the card base.
I just love how these dies can be used on their one as one layer or by adding the second layer you have much more detail on the butterflies.
I hope you have enjoyed my projects and want to have a go yourself.
