Welcome to a New Year and a New Decade. I hope you are looking forward to seeing what projects we have come up with for the January Blog Hop.
This month’s these is Birthday Bash. I decided to use the Painted Poppies and matching Designer Series Paper to make a Birthday card and gift bag this month.
Project 1 – Card
To make the card I stamped a background mat layer using the individual poppy outline stamps onto Real Red card stock using Real Red ink pad.
Then I cut and stuck a Basic Black mat layer onto a Whisper White card base before sticking the Real Red mat layer on.
I decided to split the front of the card so I stuck a scrap of Basic Black card stock.
I love the larger stamp with the outline poppies on so I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to fit the stamp. This I stuck to the top of the card using Stampin Dimensionals.
For the bottom of the card I cut another piece of Whisper White card stock as before and stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
Using the back ground stamps from the Painted Poppies I stamped around the sentiment using Real Red ink pad.
Again I fixed the sentiment to the card using Stampin Dimensionals.
Project 2 – Bag
For my 3D project I decided to make a bag using the matching DSP. I started by making the base of the bag using Old Olive card stock.
Then I chose a piece on the Designer Series Paper for the sides and attached it to the base using tear and tape.
Next I punched two holes in the top. I used the Old Olive Dark blends to colour in the ribbon before threading through the holes.
I hope that you have enjoyed seeing the projects that I have come up with for the Birthday Bash theme. The next person to hop over to is Jo Blackman to see what lovely projects she has come up with.
