Welcome to this month’s Kre8tors Blog Hop

The Theme this month is Anniversary

August is always a very busy month for me card wise as most of the family’s birthdays and anniversaries are this month so this could not be a better month to make an anniversary card.

With Anniversaries in mind I decided to choose the Have a Hoot stamp set and matching dies from the August – December mini catalogue. I love how you can do various themes with this bundle apart from obviously Christmas and Halloween.

First I started by using the sponge brayers and the following inks, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler to make a sky effect onto Whisper White card stock. I stamped a leaf image from Forever Fern using Shaded Spruce along the bottom before die cut squares using the Layering Square dies. To finish off I stamped two leaf images on the top corners.

Next I stamped the sentiment using the Well Said stamp set onto die cut Whisper White using our Stampin’ Markers in Crush Curry and Pumpkin Pie. I love this technique as you do not have to have an ink pad to do this. You just colour in the stamp, huff on it and stamp it onto card stock. Quick, Simple and of course very easy. To add Cherry Cobble ink to the edge I sponged it using a sponge dauber.

I then mounted the mat layers onto a Whisper White Thick card stock base. I spent a while choosing which colours to us as mat layers and finally chose Cherry Cobble as the base mat layer with Crushed Curry and Shaded Spruce as strip mat layers.

Next I stuck the stamped square onto the top half of the card and stuck the sentiment using Stampin Dimentionals.

To finish off the card I stamped the owls using Black Memento ink and die cut them out. I love how the die just cuts the owls out on their own without the stars and mistletoe. Next I coloured the owls in using our watercolour pencils and a blender pen to make the colours pop out.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I chose for my project today. Sadly this is the last Kre8tors Blog Hop for a while but I will still be taking part in other blog hops and posting projects direct onto my website.
