Ink & Share Scrapbook January 2020 Blog Hop

Welcome to this months Ink & Share Blog Hop. This month’s theme is up to us to choose. As I am doing my family history I have a couple of photographs that were of my Granddad during his service in the Second World War.

Stampin’ Up! has the Painted Poppy Suite which is so versatile and I just had to use it for these photographs.

I started by using the larger outline poppy stamp to make a border along the bottom. I then used the larger background stamp to stamp around the 12×12 card stock.

As old photos were printed in black and white I decided to use Basic Black card stock for the first mat layer before using Real Red card stock as the bottom layer.

For the journalling I cut Real Red card stock arrows to point to each photo with a Basic Black rectangle. I will add the information that my Granddad wrote on the back of each photo later using a silver gel pen.

I hope that this scrapbook page has given you an idea for one of your layouts. Please do leave comments as you hop around, you will need to clink on the next button to visit Jo Blackman and see her Scrapbook layout.

  1. very nostalgic, the poppies are perfect for remembering our veterans – I have a bunch of these type of photos passed from my grandmother to my Mum and then to me – I think I will be using this idea when I get round to putting them in a scrapbook. thank you for sharing
