Stamp 'n Hop June Blog Hop Phicture

Welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

The Theme this month is DSP Spotlight

Full phot of finished scrapbook layout spotlighting my favourite DSP

For this month theme of Spotlight – DSP I thought I would make a scrapbook layout spotlighting my favourite DSP which is the Hydrangea Hill designer series paper. This fabulous DSP will be retiring at the end of this month. I absolutely love these papers and how they match and compliment each other. For my project I decided that I would use it to make a simple scrapbook layout.

Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper

How to make my scrapbook layout

I chose to use the smaller printed DSP in the purple. blue, blue and mauve and purple strip and cut various widths from 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ strips.

Next I took a 12×12 piece of Basic White card stock and laid the strips on top until I was happy with how they looked. I really struggled trying to make it look random.

Once I was happy with how the strips looked I started sticking them down leaving a small gap between them so the card stock showed through.

Next I chose my photo mat layer colours and decided to choose Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape card stock. I cut a 10.5cm x 15.5cm mat layer using the Highland Heather card stock and a 11cm x 16cm mat layer using the Gorgeous Grape card stock.

As I wanted to add some die cuts to the layout, I chose the Brilliant Wings dies and die cut out the butterflies. I used the inside of the Gorgeous Grape mat layer and scraps of card stock to die cut them out.

Once I had decided where I wanted the butterflies to go on the layout I stuck them down.

Finally I used scraps of Basic White, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape card stock to make the title box and stuck two of the smaller butterflies on opposite corners.
