Welcome to Stampin’ Dreams June Blog Hop.

The theme for this month is Birthdays.

This is a global blog hop and you have just arrived in England.  I hope you enjoy my birthday cards.

If like me you have bought stamp sets but not quite got round to using them, well, Graceful Garden was one of those that I had.  I chose the roses as in England most of our roses start blooming in our gardens.

Here are the two cards I came up with.

Rose cards x2

Card 1

Rose card 1

This card is a basic A6 card base with a mint macaron card  stock mat layer.  I stamped the rose onto a Whisper White mat layer using Black Memento Ink.  I used Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry watercolour pencils to colour in the rose and blended together using the blender pen.  The leaves were colouring in using Old Olive watercolour pencil.

I edged the rose petals and tops of the leaves with Wink of Stella to give it a slight shimmer.

The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set in Mint Macaron to match the mat layer.  I finished off the card with 3 Rhinestones.

Card 2

Rose card 2

This card style is a new one that I was shown at a recent team meeting.  For this card I used Basic Black, Mint Macaron and Whisper White card stock to make mat layers on both front sides of the card.  I stamped the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday, in Black Memento Ink.

The roses and rose leaves are also from the Graceful Garden stamp set and are stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured in using the same colours as card 1.   I then fussy cut them out and arranged them onto the whisper white mat layer.

I hope the two cards you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day.
