Colour Combo September Blog Hop

Welcome to the September Colour Combo monthly blog hop

For the Colour Combo blog hop we are given 3 colours to use for our project.  This month we have been given the colours: Gorgeous Grape, Garden Green and Old Olive.  Gorgeous Grape is one of our new colours following our recent colour revamp.

This month I needed to make a Happy Anniversary Card for my parents so I decided to use the colours for this blog to make their card.

I used a Whisper White card base and added a Gorgeous Grape matt layer.  For the next matt layer I decided to use Old Olive and  as the colours are very strong colours I decided to emboss the layer.  To do this I used the Quilt embossing folder and then turned down a corner so you can see both sides of the matt layer.

I wanted a strong image to match the embossed layer so I used the flowers from Petal Pallette.  I coloured it in using Gorgeous Grape, Garden Green and Old Olive watercolour pencils.

To finish off the card I stamped a suitable sentiment in Black Momento Ink and added 3 rhinestones below the sentiment.

I do hope you have enjoyed my card.  Please do leave comments as you hop through each blog.

Welcome to another Kre8tors Blog Hop
 This month’s theme is SYMPATHY

This month’s theme is one most of us do not really want to think about.

For this blog hop I decided to design two cards using the same stamp set and same three colours.  When I saw the Dandelion Wishes I immediately thought the dandelion seeds looked as if they were a spirit floating away.

Traditionally in Victorian England the widow would mourn for two and half years and would wear black.  For the final six months they could wear purple.  Having this in mind I chose to use Basic Black and Gorgeous Grape card stock.

For the first card I wanted to use white embossing powder for the dandelion head.  This turned out far better than I expected.

For the second card I decided to mat the layers at a wonky angle and use Gorgeous Grape ink pad for the dandelion and sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my two cards.  Please do leave comments as you hop through each blog.

Home Decor SU Style August Blog Hop

Welcome  I am a Stampin’ Up! independent demonstrator from Burwell, Cambridgeshire, England.   I loved crafting as a child and this interest has never faded.  I have used many products over the years but I love how Stampin’ Up! products mix and match.

This time I am Blog Hopping with Home Decor SU Style. Where the aim is to show you that you can use the Stampin’ Up! products to make lovely pieces around your home.

This is a totally new area for me as I have always used Stampin’ Up! products to make cards, then scrap book pages.

Did you know that you can decorate plain candles with Stamps?

It is so easy to do.

  • Stamp your image onto coloured tissue paper.
  • Lay a sheet of wax paper over the tissue paper
  • Using a heat gun slowly heat the wax paper until it is stuck onto the candle.

It is so easy even my husband can do it and he is not into crafting.

I hope my blog has inspired you to have a go at stamping onto candles.

Please do leave comments on our blogs as you move round our Blog Hop.

Thank you
